A 26-year-old man, Giwa Taiwo, who allegedly threatened the life of
his neighbour, Mr Emma Adebowale, was on Wednesday arraigned in an
Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, whose address was
not provided, is facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy,
breach of peace and threat to life.
The prosecutor, Insp. Eshiet
Eshiet, told the court that the accused conspired with others at large,
and threatened to kill Adebowale.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 166, 230 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The
Magistrate, Mrs S. K. Metapo, granted him N50,000 bail with two
sureties in like sum, and ordered that the sureties must be gainfully
employed and show evidence of tax payments.
She also said that the addresses of the sureties be verified and adjourned the case till Dec. 16 for mention. (NAN)
