A man who murdered a south London teenager before cutting up her body
and hiding it in a pair of suitcases has been found dead in jail.
Drug addict Mohammed d'Ali Carvalho dos Santos was locked up in 2009
for stabbing 17-year-old Cara Marie Burke to death after they argued
about his crack cocaine habit.
Miss Burke, from Southfields near Wimbledon, had followed Santos to
Goiania in central Brazil that year after the pair started a
relationship in London.
But Santos, then aged 20, knifed her to death when she threatened to tell his mother he was spending his money on drugs.
Afterwards, he cut off her limbs and head and put them in a suitcase,
with her torso in another, before dumping both cases in a nearby river
and heading out to a party.
The teenager was only identified by her family after pictures of her
distinctive stomach tattoo were shown on a Brazilian TV station.
