Sex attacker stole woman’s handbag

A woman was the victim of a sexual assault by a man who also stole her handbag.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, had left Mode nightclub with a friend in the early hours of Sunday, December 6, and walked along Marlowes to Crescent Road, where her friend left her.
She then walked home alone, and when she reached Leighton Buzzard Road at around 4.20am when the man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her before stealing her handbag.
The suspect is described as white, with an Irish accent, 20–30 years old, 5ft 10ins tall, of a slim build and wearing a beanie hat.
Detective Constable Archie Bagworth said: “Whilst this was in the early hours of the morning I am confident some people would have been around and may have seen the victim or someone acting suspiciously in the area.
“The majority of the victim’s property was found the next day on Cemmaes Court Road. We believe the offender must have fled this way and may have even stopped for a short time to look at the property before discarding it.
If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in this area or have any information which could assist the investigation then please call police.”
Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number D1/15/8076.
