Fingerprint identification program to help crime solution – State Registration Service

Bishkek (AKIpress) - Biometric database is the most relevant data bank at the present moment, State Registration Service Chairman Tairbek Sarpashev told online conference held by Tazabek on January 19.
The biometric database has the most precise data, he said. “When we compare it with data banks of other agencies – Social Fund, Mandatory Health Insurance Fund – we encounter lots of discrepancies,” Sarpashev stated.
Mr. Sarpashev also talked about fingerprint identification program of the Interior Ministry. “We have around 3 million fingerprints of citizens of Kyrgyzstan above 16 years of age. We are working on fingerprint identification program with the Interior Ministry. When we find a common solution, the Interior Ministry will be able to apply to the State Registration Service for fingerprints. This will help crime solution,” Sarpashev stated.
