Police have launched a witness appeal after a 74-year-old man was assaulted on New Year's Eve.
The force is asking anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward.
The 74-year-old victim received a punch to the back of the head following a disagreement with a group of young people at Drakes Close, Bridgwater, at approximately 11.40pm.
The attack caused the man to fall over and momentarily lose consciousness. An ambulance was called and the man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build with brown spiky hair. He was wearing dark framed glasses, a dark hooded top and dark trousers.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information, is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 5216000024.
