The victim's mother – who cannot be named for legal reasons – did nothing to stop her partner sexually assaulting the youngster in his downstairs "den" during the 1970s, Reading Crown Court was told.
She allegedly insisted her daughter continued having sex with him to maintain the family's "peaceful life".
Prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson said: "She remembers another occasion as her step-father was in the bedroom having sex with her when her mother was calling out to the defendant and saying 'what are you doing with her? You should be in bed with me' which suggested to her that her mother knew what was going on."
The stepfather, now 75, first molested the girl when she was 10 years old on the drive home from a KFC fast food restaurant on the Slough Trading Estate, the prosecution claim.
The victim told the cops during an interview she eventually managed to negotiate with her stepfather to reduce the abuse to once a week.
When the 75-year-old was arrested and questioned by cops two years ago, he insisted he was not the boy's father.
The defendant denies seven counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted rape of a child.
The trial continues
