Saudi teacher kills 6 with machine-gun: ‘I want to know the truth’

Abdullah Al Maliki, a Saudi teacher, killed six of his colleagues last Thursday with a machine gun, leaving Arab citizens in shock.

This is because people close to him from family and at work, describe him as a calm man who had good relationships with all.

According to an ‘Al Bayan’ report, security sources confirmed that preliminary investigations suggest personal disagreements between the suspect and a supervisor in the office may have led to the killings.

Ahmad Jaber, headmaster of school that the suspect moved to before the incident, shared a recent dialogue with Al Maliki:

Al Maliki: I want to search for the truth.

Jaber: What truth?

Al Maliki: I feel that everyone around me is fake

Al Jaber pointed out that after sitting with him for a quarter-of-an hour, Al Maliki went out to the playground to play with students, and he was surprised when he sought permission to leave work.

He stated that the suspect shared the same massage on a WhatsApp group: “I want to know the truth”.

The report quotes an eyewitness in the office as saying that the suspect began firing from a machine gun once he got out of his car, which he had stopped in front of the entrance of the office.

He began shooting at random, in all directions at everyone.

Another worker in the office explains that the suspect had no direct relationship or disagreement with anyone at the office.

One of his colleagues described him as an example of poise and good manners.

The headmaster of King Faisal High School, Yahya Misfer Al Subhan, where Al Maliki started his career as a teacher of Islamic education years ago, said he tended to isolate himself, despite his discipline at work.

Sources confirmed that Al Maliki fled the site in his car after committing the crime, but he was arrested later with the weapon he had used in the crime.
