Gunmen Kill 5 Officials Of UN, Adamawa

Unknown gunmen have killed five  officials of the United Nations, the National  Boundary Commission (NBC) and Adamawa State Ministry of Land and Survey when there were on delineation mission of border towns between Adamawa  and the Cameroun Republic following judgement of the International court in 2002.

The officials were said to have been attacked and killed along Koncha village within Cameroon Republic.
The Adamawa State commissioner for justice and attorney-general, Mr Silas Sanga while briefing  journaliats at government house Yola on Wednesday confirmed the incidence.He said that the the remain of the slain officials have been taken to the state preparatory for transporting them to their states and country of origin and respected families respectively.
Sanga said, “The attacked happened in Cameroun not in Adamawa State, the Cameroonian authorities have released the corpse to Adamawa government. We are making necessary arrangements to convey the corpse to their respective families.
“We are trying to ascertain the numbers of the persons who lost their lives in the unfortunate incidence, but the remaining are not foreigners.”
He said, so far, the identities of some of the victims of the attack have been confirmed. One from Kenya, one from Cameroon, two are from Adamawa and Kano states.
The commissioner did not however give the identities of the members of the international committees of Boundary on Delineation that were victims of the gruesome attack.
Another report has alleged that it may be possible that the victims were attacked by Cameroonian gear dames  along Koncha, a border town between Cameroon and Toungo Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Already, a delegation of the Adamawa state government headed by the deputy governor, Martins Babale are putting finishing touches on how to send the remains of Tehran victims to their respective places.
The delegation which included Adamawa State commissioner for land and survey, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa and some top officials of the ministry has mobilised at the Federal Medical Centre Yola to receive the corpse of the victims.
The officials were on a mission to the area for demarcation between Nigeria and Cameroon following International Court of Justice judgements which cededed Bakassi phenusula to Cameroon.
One of the victim who lost his live an Assistant Surveyor General with the ministry of
Land and survey Zakari Bakari lost his life to the attack.
When contacted on phone,younger brother to the deceased,Hamza Bakari,confirmed the receipt of the body of
