Jasmine Macquaker, from Edinburgh, was last seen at Dalmeny Railway Station in South Queensferry at 8.30pm on Sunday night.
A passer-by found the body shortly after 7am along the coastline in North Queensferry, Fife - on the opposide side of the Firth of Forth - and raised the alarm
Edinburgh Police said formal identification is yet to be carried out, but officers have informed Jasmine's family of the development.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
