A 17-year-old boy who was stabbed in the chest in Swadlincote at the weekend has died in hospital.
Police were called to West Street at 4am on Sunday, April 10, and found two young men, from Leicester, injured.
Officers believe that the 17-year-old boy became involved in an argument with another man in West Street. He was stabbed in the chest and died yesterday.
A 20-year-old man intervened and suffered a slash wound to the chest. He has now been discharged from hospital.
Detectives do not think the incident was a random attack and believe the people involved were known to each other.
