The Imo State correspondent of the Channels TV, Tope Kutiyi was in the early hours of Monday kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Kutiyi was reportedly kidnapped about 3am by armed gunmen who stormed his residence.
The abduction of the journalist has ignited fears and apprehension among journalists in the state with security men working round the clock to apprehend the abductors.
The state commissioner of police, CP. Taiwo Lakanu in a telephone conversation assured that the command was on top of the situation.
Meanwhile, the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha through his chief press secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo has condemned the incident and described same as unfortunate and wicked act against a defenseless journalist.
