Authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the rescue of a 15-year-old girl that was abducted from the Okaka area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, leading to the arrest of three persons over alleged kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms and robbery.
The newly deployed State Commissioner of Police, Asuquo Amba, while interacting with media executives in Yenagoa, said the rescue girl,identified as Miss Anthonia Adoki was abducted by some unknown persons at about 2pm in the presence of the mother, Favour Maxwell.
According to Amba, “The serious crime unit operatives, immediately swung into action, raided a suspected criminal hideout behind Okaka Estate in Yenagoa. The victim was rescued and upon search of the hideout an English made revolver pistol was recovered.”
