Police Arrest Man, 30, For Allegedly Defiling 10-year-old Boy

The Ebonyi Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Stephen Ude for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old boy.
Mr George Okafor, the command’s Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident and arrest on Monday in Abakaliki, said that investigation into the matter had begun.
According to him, the suspect will soon be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation and presentation of the medical report of the victim.
“We will ensure that the law takes its full course to serve as a deterrent to other people engaged in such acts,” he said.
Okafor warned that the command would not tolerate any form of homosexuality or sexual assault on minors, as perpetrators would be severely punished.
“I advise parents to be mindful of those they allow their children to associate with and also their movement,” he said.
A source who is the victim’s relative told NAN on condition of anonymity that both Ude and the victim hail from Amuzu community, in
Amasiri, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
The source said that Ude trailed the victim to his parent’s farm and perpetrated the act there.
“When the victim returned from the farm in the evening, he looked very weak and sick which made his father to inquire about his condition.
“He told his father that Ude had sex with him through the anus which made his father to immediately rush him to the hospital.
‘’His father afterwards reported the matter to the police,’’ the source said. (NAN)
